How great would it be to go outside and prepare a salad without ever going to the grocery store? It’s easy to grow many vegetables like carrots, peppers, tomatoes, and peas in your own yard. Check your zone’s gardening calendar at www.canadiangardening.com for tips and to find out when to reap and sow. Also grow fresh herbs inside all year long to add the goodness of natural spice and taste sensations to your meals. Though many of us don’t have space for a vegetable garden, most municipalities operate Community Gardens where you can lease out plots of land. Ask you local municipal government where there are community gardens in your neighbourhood. Then get out there and release your inner gardener! |
